Job Activities

What you will do:

Provide leadership and support, the individual must be experienced in setting and writing up – turnaround best practices to evaluate and present workable solutions regarding repairs of highly critical rotating equipment in the Petrochemical Industry.

Position requires the maintenance planner must have extensive skills and knowledge of implementation of premise, set processes and procedures in preparation of Turnaround Execution around planning, scheduling, logistics, and cost facets relating to FEL development and performance for execution tracking and task.

Candidate must be able to coordinate the work activities and schedules of multi-craft field work crews.

Position may require limited travel, gate projects level 1 through 3 may last from three months to three years on site locations throughout the Petrochemical and power Generation industry. The individual must be a self-starter and provide clear concise reports in a professional manner working with end users and contractors. Maintain timely and profitable job execution and completion, coordinating the daily work activities, schedules of multi-craft field work crews and outside vendors.

Candidate must maintain professional competency and meet ever-changing statutory requirements, safe worker with strong working knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental procedures including basic plus safety, site specific, drug and alcohol compliance meeting DISA standards.

Responsibilities:

Use Company-approved computer scheduling system Primavera Project Planner.

Develop and plan scope of work gate one turnarounds or outages.

Assist Project Manager and Resources in development of task and resource loaded baseline schedules.

Job steps, procedures and safety plans.

Assist Project Manager and Technical Field Advisors in development of subcontractor schedules, cranes and rigging, outside vendors and internal plant resources.

Provide Technical Field Advisor and Millwright Crew real time – on time in updating schedules.

Perform time impact analysis for change orders and claims.

Assist in claims preparation and analysis and prepare fragnet schedule details.

Advise on-site field personnel in scheduling procedures and separate project schedules work closely with construction cost engineer, owner in order to gather estimates from contractors.

Understand and communicate field resourcing needs and work scope for each job, incorporating best practices in job plans.

Prepare ‘as built’ schedules and secure position Works effectively with internal and external clients.

May interface with members of end user, upper management and provide detailed information regarding projects and overall IMS.

Required Skills

Works with the Project Manager, Technical Field Advisor and project team in the planning, development, and performance of project schedules.

Participates in control and reporting of schedule job cost information and performance for assigned projects and plant vendors internal warehouse and logistics departments.

Participates in preparation of budgets and schedules for all assigned work and performs and/or assists in performance analysis such as resource profiles and variance analysis.

Ability to read/ write/ communicate in English

Ability to decipher P&ID’s, blueprints and understand plans and specifications, instruction instructions and technical manuals

Prepare package tasking details in order to guide field crews to perform safe and efficient field repairs

Strong mechanical ability related to compressor / rotating equipment disassembly and reassembly and petrochemical plant processes

Strong ability to work with millwright crews for overall project success

Ensures adequate resource availability by maintaining accurate records of performance, preparation of integrated tasking and resource usage plans and submitting timely requests for additional support and corrective actions as required. Incorporates changes into the control systems by staying aware of outstanding work against each project in order to maintain realistic cost and schedule plans and baselines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs project planning and control and maintain the project schedule/resources plan in the Primavera based Integrated Master Schedule for assigned projects and other assigned tasking.

Creates, monitors, and maintains large or multiple work plans/schedules using Primavera P6 with regard to Rotating Equipment and scope creep.

Coordinates with Technical Field Advisors and Millwright leads for scheduling requirements and resource loads.

Oversees multiple project schedules to help ensure they meet project deliverables and adhere to project management methodologies and scheduling guidelines.
Works closely with Technical Field Advisors, Planning & Controls Manager and Budget Manager to prepare station schedules and provide labor reports for development of annual program plans. Reviews schedules to ensure accuracy and compliance with Budget department’s requirements.
Provides direction to subordinates based on general policies and management guidance.
Responsive to requests for information/deliverables either by their requested date or provide a new timeline (before the due date) to ensure on time delivery of a quality product (i.e. complete and accurate)

Works with Planning & Project Manager to handle administrative responsibilities within Primavera P6 and Cost Manager.

Performs Q/A audits of Primavera databases to ensure standardization and consistency.

Communicates professionally, both orally and in writing as needed to relay information.

Understands and complies with company Project Procedure manuals for Planning & Controls functions. Works with Planning & Control team to update project procedures and maintaining desktop reference.

Maintains a safe workplace and ensures that safety is the highest priority on the job site.

Education/Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Minimum 2-3 years of verifiable experience in the field.

Certificate of completion from acceptable trade schools.

Military training and experience in related fields.

Mechanical Engineering, PMP, PMI.

Associate degree in Mechanical Technology.

NCCER Millwright or equivalent combination of education and experience.

OSHA 30 Hour, PEC (Petroleum Education Council) 24-hour core compliance or equivalent training.

Physical Demands

  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with the use of proper lifting techniques and procedures.
  • Stand, walk, climb, perform overhead work with fall protection, use hands to feel, handle or operate objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms, sit, talk and hear.
  • Work 12 hour daily shifts in difficult exposed outdoor environment for extended periods of time.
  • Perform duties while using SCBA breathing apparatus in potentially hazardous environments.
  • At least 20/40 arrested binocular vision, as well as close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to kneel, balance, push, pull, drive, stoop, climb, and crouch.
  • Must be able to work as a team member under pressure.
  • Perform duties while using respiratory protection such as:
  • SCBA (self-contained breathing apparatus) in potentially hazardous environments
  • APR (air purifying respirator) outfitted with cartridge filters used while painting
  • Particle masks used while buffing and/or grinding
  • Successfully comply to and complete the OSHA required Respiratory Questionnaire process with a Licensed Health Care Provider
  • Must pass a Respiratory Protection Fit Test with a Licensed Health Care Provider
  • Must be able to conform to customer-required physical and medical standards.
  • Psychological capacity to cope in a high-pressure work environment and interact effectively with team members.
  • Must be able to successfully pass Pre-Employment Screenings and Health Physical.
