Job Activities

What you will do:

The Sales Tax Analyst primary responsibilities managing the tax exemption certificates on file. The individual must have strong communication and problem resolution skills to execute daily tasks and assist in the resolution process of current or invoiced tax issues. Assist in gathering/packaging data and documentation requested to support jurisdictional tax audits timely.

This Role has potential of Full Time Equivalency for the right candidate, founded on developing strong working relationships with other teams, providing skills and knowledge.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Research and locate any internal tax certificates already set up in OnBase & Vertex and submit them to be uploaded under the designated customer numbers.
  • Verify tax exemption certificates and forward them to the proper email-boxes to be uploaded in Data Drawer.
  • Assist in the resolution of current tax issues and/or tax credit/rebills process.
  • Assist with sales / use tax audits requests managed by Corporate Tax.
  • Understand each Business Units operations to mitigate the risk of potential exposure areas
  • Respond to external inquiries regarding transactional taxes from internal customers
  • Understand Sales and Use tax compliance and familiar with tax exemption certificate forms
  • Having good sales and use tax research skills and be able to discern tax laws.
  • Good organization skills and intermediate level Microsoft Excel skills

Required Skills

  • Required Skills & Preferences:
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in accounting and preferred exposure in Sales and Use tax.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, with intermediate to advanced Excel skills and ability to work within a variety of ERP systems: Glovia & Oracle- Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communication written or verbally
  • Preferred experience using Vertex and a tax exemption data warehouse application.
  • Have strong technical experience and knowledge of multistate sales and use tax laws including tax refund preparation.
  • The successful candidate must demonstrate organizational skills and ability to manage many tasks with limited supervision and a high regard for deadlines.

Education Experience

  • Degreed BS/ BA – Accounting or Finance
  • Education Verification – Required
  • Two to Five years related experience or equivalent.
