Job Activities

What you will do:

The Intercompany (IC) Accountant is responsible for accurate and timely accounting of IC transactions between Aftermarket and other domestic and international entities.  This is a hands-on and challenging role working closely with the IC team, the IC Accounting Supervisor, the Accounting Manager, and with accounting contacts at various company affiliates.

This Role has potential of Full Time Equivalency for the right candidate, founded on developing strong working relationships with other teams, providing skills and knowledge.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Consolidate, analyze, and report operational metrics for all global locations
  • Compiles and analyzes financial information such as Inter Company purchases, sales revenue, markup, and freight expenses.
  • Prepares and posts journal entries to the general ledger.
  • Creates and distributes the monthly Sales Mark-up file to company affiliates.
  • Generates monthly intercompany billings Intercompany Debit/Credit Memos.
  • Communicates and coordinates with company affiliate partners to record IC transactions, analyze IC balances, and propose domestic clearings.
  • Reconciles intercompany accounts, including Inter-Unit markup, with a large volume of intercompany partners.
  • Updates the Open Items lists and ensures that IC balances are properly aged.
  • Submits approved wire settlements in Treasury’s’ PMP System.
  • Intricate member of the IC Accounting team involved in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes.
  • Provides variance explanations at quarter-end for SOX accounting control 14 compliance.
  • Assists with fulfilling audit requests for customs compliance, internal and external audits.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Must be eligible to work in USA, Sponsorship N/A.

  • Required Skills & Preferences:
  • GL close experience.

  • One to three years of overall accounting experience.

  • Experience preparing balance sheet account reconciliations.

  • SOX compliance knowledge/exposure.

  • Microsoft Access database experience.

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience with Alteryx or Power BI software preferred.

  • Oracle, Smart View, HFM, and Essbase Planning experience a plus.

  • Problem-solving skills, critical analytical skills, and being a self-starter is also important.

  • This role will have a lot of visibility with senior management finance and operations.

  • The successful candidate must demonstrate organizational skills and ability to manage many tasks with limited supervision and a high regard for deadlines.

Education Experience

  • Degreed BS/ BA – Accounting or Finance
  • Education Verification – Required
  • Three to Five years related experience or equivalent.
