Job Activities

What you will do:

We are looking for self–motivated achievers who take pride in their work as skilled tradesmen to work as a team and individually in a fabrication job shop using the shielded metal arc and gas shielded arc methods working with different materials and wall thickness. Utilize different positions and types of welds, alignments by fitting together fabricated parts of metal according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics and sketches in preparation for welding, all types of steel, thermo plastics, and stainless with manual and semiautomatic welding equipment. Lay out and mark weld points on parts or subassemblies using ruler, square, scribe, templates, and laser by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Selecting, measuring, cutting, and joining appropriate metals to specifications.
  • Preparing metals and work surfaces to ensure safe and effective assemblage.
  • Interpreting specifications and blueprints accurately.
  • Training welding apprentices and mentoring recruits.
  • Regularly cleaning and inspecting welding equipment and tools.
  • Operating cranes and other machinery to transport materials to welding worksites.
  • Determining correct gas ratios.
  • Testing the strength of each join during and after project completion.
  • Diagnosing issues and troubleshooting as required.
  • Use precision measuring equipment with high degree of accuracy
  • Perform daily cleaning and maintenance to machinery and equipment when required
  • Comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions
  • Perform all assigned tasks in a safe and responsible manner
  • Comply with all HS&E policies, procedures, regulations and instructions
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Experienced in parts fabrication and piping tubular and stainless.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as portability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Liaising with the line manager or supervisor, reporting any issues, and making suggestions for improvement.

To be considered for this role you must pass 6 G Weld test also known as the Arkansas bellhole test, this test is to identify the skills or lack of them in a welder. It is stringent test, because the welder must use a variety of techniques, such as flat, vertical and horizontal welding to achieve a successful 6G weld.

Earning the 6G welding certification qualifies a welder to weld pipes and plates in all positions.

    MIG Welders measure, cut, and assemble metal projects using an electric arc and inert gas. They select suitable material, ensure the work area is safe, prepare metal surfaces, determine gas ratios, and inspect weld strength during and after the welding process. MIG Welders should be physically strong and have good mental acuity.

    We are searching for a reliable, deadline-driven Short ARC MIG Welders to join our team of skilled professionals. The Welder’s responsibilities include interpreting blueprints, selecting appropriate tools and metals, measuring, and assembling metal pieces, using cutting tools safely, determining gas ratios, drilling holes, and monitoring inventory.

    To be successful as a MIG Welder, you should demonstrate excellent physical strength and dexterity, as well as superb attention to detail. Outstanding MIG Welders are able to interpret written and verbal specifications and stick to deadlines even under extreme conditions.
